London G20 Protest 01/04/09 from Ollie Wainwright on Vimeo.
My friend and colleague, the veteran photographer David Hoffman, is targeted and attacked by a police officer in full riot gear, 3 minutes and 22 seconds into this excellent film by Ollie Wainwright.
David was documenting the G20 protest at the time.

Nice bit of film. I hope the clip of David Hoff man being pushed in the face by a police shield has gone to the NUJ. As far as I’m concerned this is yet more evidence that the police were deliberately and systematically targeting journalists to attempt to surpress reporting of the events.
The comment written on the wall, “welcome to 1984′” appears to be the true face of modern policing.
We can’t use the ‘democratic process’ to fight this. Perhaps the media should stop running police press releases and starve them of the oxygen of publicity. Enough is now enough.
I feel sick.
Video’s like this are the new democracy. Demonstrating the New world order.
Fantastically brave
