Anti-fascist protesters breached the barriers of the BBC in protest at the BNP leader being invited to appear on the flagship programme. NOTTINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM – 17.10.09. Hundreds of environmental activists surround Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station with the aim to shut it down on Saturday 17 October 2009 in Nottingham, England. Activists used bolt cutters and ropes to pull down sections of the 3m electrified fence. Over the last two weeks I have been working for The Financial Times on an investigation into a secret police database of pictures of protesters. This made the front page today of the FT.
