No surprise that I have spent the majority of my working year documenting political dissent. Along side of this, I have been reviewing my achieve of youth culture pictures from the 90’s, with a view to digitize them for my picture library. Without doubt this inspired me to shoot more youth culture pictures this year and is something I want to do a lot more of in 2011.

I’m not saying the protest project is over, far from it, but my focus is definitely shifting. This refocusing is clearly reflected in this edit. Picking ten pictures from the many thousands I have made over the last year has not been easy. I hope you like my edit.

The Blog and I are now on a hiatus and we will be back in the new year.

Enjoy!

Back in the day – skateboarding circa 1999/2000
December 4th, 2010

ALK skateboarding circa 1999 / 2000 from Andreas Laszlo Konrath on Vimeo.

This takes me back. My good friend, photographer and skateboarder, Andreas Laszlo Konrath back in 1999/2000.

As Andreas puts it, “This is me skateboarding back in the day. My friends Ollie and Rich owned a skateboard company called Com!c Skateboards and this is my section from the video we made together called 1.21 Gigawatts. Old local town spots and some fun times!!!”

Plus one of my pictures (below) of Andreas in Brighton in 2000 when I was still shooting on film!
