Very happy to announce that Berlin based academic Sandra Bartoli and founding member of Büro für Konstruktivismus has agreed to chair the talk at the launch of my new zine Vandals and the City in July at Urban Spree.

“Sandra Bartoli is professor at the Master Program of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nürnberg. She studied Architecture at the University of Venice (IUAV) and received a master in Landscape Architecture at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She was research associate at the Department of Urban Design at the TU Berlin (2009-2015). Her book about the Tiergarten in Berlin, in which aspects of ecology, urbanism, heritage and humanism are transgressed to converge in an urban model for the future, is forthcoming by the end of 2016.”Büro für Konstruktivismus.

Join me in the Bookshop at The Photographers’ Gallery on Thursday 20 August 2015 for the launch party of Tiergarten Transgression.

Shot over one afternoon in Berlin’s oldest urban public park, Tiergarten Transgression is a visual response to attending part of the ‘Tiergarten, Landscape of Transgression’ conference held at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of the Cultures of the World) in Berlin in July 2015. The conference was organised by Sandra Bartoli and Jörg Stollmann (Urban Design and Urbanization TU Berlin). Bartoli is also the author of AG4-Tiergarten published by Büro für Konstruktivismus.

Tiergarten Transgression documents a queer anarchist boy exploring the south west side of the park below the golden Victory Column in the historic gay cruising area. Landscape, sexuality and transgression come together over 24 black and white pages.
